The Signs of Zodiac
Aries : The emergence of self-consciousness and self-expression. The Key phrase for the Sun in Aries is I AM. It is URGENT AND IMPULSIVE; OUTWARDLY ORIENTED AND OBJECTIVE.
Taurus : The discovery of possessions and growth. The key phrase for the Sun in Taurus is I HAVE. The Sun here is PRODUCTIVE AND PATIENT; CAUTIOUS, STUBBORN AND DETERMINED.
Gemini : The discovery of ideas and communication. The key phrase for the Sun in Gemini is I THINK. The Sun here is WITTY, CURIOUS, CHANGEABLE AND ADAPTABLE; AND IT COMMUNICATES.
Cancer : The development of feelings and the need for protection. The key phrase for the Sun in Cancer is I FEEL. It is IMAGINATIVE, RECEPTIVE AND EMOTIONAL; NOURISHING, PROTECTIVE AND CLANNISH.
Leo : The development of the Self in relation to Others. The key phrase for Leo is I WILL. The Sun here is CREATIVE, PROUD AND POWERFUL; DRAMATIC, GENEROUS AND DOMINEERING.
Virgo :The development of discernment. The key phrase for Virgo is I ANALYZE. It is ADAPTABLE, EFFICIENT AND PRACTICAL; RESERVED, `PRECISE AND CRITICAL.
Libra :Development of relationships and awareness of others. The key phrase for Libra is I BALANCE. The Sun here is HARMONIOUS, WILLING TO COMPROMISE, ROMANTIC AND COMPANIONABLE.
Scorpio :Exploring the uses of Power and of Transformation. The key phrase for Scorpio is I DESIRE. It is PENETRATING, INTENSE AND SECRETIVE; COURAGEOUS AND INTENSE.
Sagittarius :Development of Goals and Aspirations. The key phrase for Sagittarius is I SEE. It is IDEALISTIC, EXPANSIVE AND FREEDOM LOVING; RESTLESS AND EXTRAVAGANT.
Capricorn :Recognition of status, power and accomplishment. The key phrase for Capricorn is I USE. It is AMBITIOUS, RESOURCEFUL AND DELIBERATE; CONSERVATIVE AND PATIENT.
Aquarius :Sees need for Progress and for having Humanitarian goals. The key phrase for Aquarius is I KNOW. The Sun here is ORIGINAL, IMAGINATIVE AND ECCENTRIC; IDEALISTIC, DOGMATIC AND HUMANITARIAN.
Pisces :Seeks universal and spiritual values. The key phrase for the Sun in Pisces is I BELIEVE. It is SENSITIVE AND COMPASSIONATE; IMPRESSIONABLE, PSYCHIC AND DEPENDENT.
Groups the signs, three to each season, to illustrate some of these differences and patterns. A point to remember is that a sign is activated by the Sunšs presence, and each thirty degree segment has a slightly different quality.. For example, each of the four seasons begin when the Sun enters a Cardinal sign -- Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn; these four signs are ACTIVE people.
The second sign in each quadrant is a Fixed sign, meaning stubborn and goal-oriented; these are named Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Finally comes the Mutable signs, which means changeable and adaptable; these are named Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
The point is: people born when the Sun is in one of these signs will exhibit these qualities in their personal makeup.
For example, in the spring time, an Aries will go out and climb a mountain, kill off all the wildlife, and then plant a flag; some Aries lose interest at that point, having made their point. Their key phrase is I AM. In the following month come the Taureans, who plow the land, plant crops, build barns and houses; finally, they label everything 'MINE" (even spouses and kids); the key phrase for those born under the sign of Taurus is I HAVE. Then, in the final month of spring, the Geminišs arrive; they question everything, write a critique on how things are arranged and how it all could have been done better. Their key phrase is I THINK.
This cycle of Cardinal (active), Fixed and Mutable is then repeated -- with variations, in each of the following seasons. In the later lessons we will deal with these three modes in greater depth.
