You are overly sensitive to criticism and often fail to assert yourself when you should defend yourself against adversaries. You are never quite sure of your ability to succeed in competition, and thus, you may avoid challenges until you feel more competent. This may result from a hesitancy to assert yourself or simply from misinterpreting how others are responding to you, so that feedback does not alter your presentation to produce the effect you want. You can clear this up by making your messages quite verbal and not communicating just with gestures or eye contact, for these are too easily misinterpreted. Insist that people respond to what you say, rather than (just) to what you do, and you will have a much clearer idea of the reactions of others to you. Because of this situation, you may feel somewhat insecure as to whether or not your companion''s responses to you are sincere and dependable. Chances are your doubts are unfounded. Here again, put your confidence in words rather than deeds, where your motives may be uncertain or misinterpreted. If you establish a clear policy of openness and honesty between yourself and your partner, you can depend on your verbal communication more than on feelings, which may be biased by insecurity. But if you are anything less than strictly honest, the relationship will fall into a quagmire.
